We exist to share Hope and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families by offering support, encouragement, and moments of light during an incredibly difficult journey.
At HopeRVA, we believe no family should walk this road alone. Through the generosity of our community, we are honored to come alongside families when they need it most.
Our Impact
Serving HopeRVA Families
HopeRVA steps in when families need support most, easing daily burdens and creating moments of relief during childhood cancer treatment.
Our impact includes:
- All-expenses-paid family getaways for rest and connection
- Gas, grocery and food gift cards for families in treatment
- Meals, care packages, and holiday gifts for HopeRVA families
- Assistance with utility bills
- Purchased and built 2 playsets
- Funeral cost support for one HopeRVA Warrior
- Volunteer-led home service projects to improve quality of life during treatment
- Facilitate connections with other local families
Partnering with Lighthouse Family Retreat
HopeRVA is proud to partner with Lighthouse Family Retreat, a nonprofit that provides restorative week long and weekend retreat experiences that help families living through childhood cancer experience rest, joy, restoration and hope.
Our partnership has included:
- Over $14,000 in scholarships provided over the past two years to help families attend retreats
- Over $5,000 raised to sponsor the Annual Lighthouse Gold Party
- $1,000 in items purchased from the Lighthouse Amazon wish list for its retreats
- Covering expenses for local Richmond families to travel to retreats
Local Partnerships with HopeRVA
HopeRVA actively partners with and supports the greater childhood cancer community.
- Raised over $25,000 at our annual golf tournament to support HopeRVA families throughout the year
- Partnered with ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation to sponsor the annual ASK 5K and help fill critical gaps for families in need.
